Company: imersivo
Position: Computer Vision Lead Engineer
Place: Barcelona
Job type: Full-Time
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A Computer Vision (CV) Lead Engineer to plan and deliver a number of exciting and innovative projects, enabling gestural interaction. This is a senior role for a visionary thinker with an inquisitive mind, eager to learn new technologies. As a core member of the Imersivo team, the CV Lead engineer will actively collaborate in the creation of a team of developers, interaction and visual designers to shape new, engaging user interactions through gesture recognition. He/she would be managing and leading the projects’ entire development trajectories, including prototyping, planning, creating the software architecture, as well as writing quality code.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO:
In this position, you will have the opportunity to work at a variety of levels, by not only managing a team that develops a software stack but also develop your own creative solutions. You will have the opportunity to task your analytical and technical mind with helping hone and polish our current and forthcoming solutions.
The right person for this position is naturally well organised, highly adaptable and very comfortable interacting directly with clients. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, who excels at creating and implementing on-the-spot solutions and who is comfortable diving into the hardware, software and networking of a high-end workstation to help mature a growing product.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
- Strong understanding of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) methodologies, based on computer vision techniques
- At least 5 years conducting research in computer vision or pattern recognition.
- Ability to produce novel, but mathematically defensible, approaches to problems.
- Fluency in (though perhaps not actual love of) C++ programming.
- Low-level graphics hacking experience (OpenGL or similar).
- Experience in managing programming teams.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English.
- Exceptionally organised and detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
- Team player attitude; solid positive energy. Responsible, reliable and proactive.
- A user experience focus: after all we are a UX-driven company
- Willingness to travel and interact with clients at international level
NICE TO HAVE:
- PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in GPU programming.
- Practical work experience in understanding and integrating OpenCV algorithms into applications.
- Experience designing and implementing user interfaces.
- A high degree of comfort configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware.
- Experience administering computers and networks and working inside servers.
- Experience working in a start-up environment.
- Experience with creative coding frameworks, such as OpenFrameworks or Unity.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
If you are a broadly experienced researcher with great programming skills who would like to work in a small team, developing user-facing applications built on a new gestural/spatial computing platform, we’d like to hear from you.
REMUNERATION:
We offer an appealing total compensation package, tailored to the value of the candidate.
