Medtep, a cutting-edge online platform utilizing digital therapeutics for disease prevention along with advanced solutions for treatment and wellness, closed a $2,000,000 investment round today led by Mexican Investment Fund Stella Maris Partners with the participation of other American and Spanish investors such as Iñigo Juantegui (Co-Founder of neveraroja.com), Pablo Juantegui (CEO at Telepizza and former CEO at Sanitas) and other leaders in the sector such as Carlos Gallardo through CG Health Ventures or the prestigious pediatrician Carlos González (Founder and President of ACPAM).
‘This funding is a huge pledge of confidence in Medtep’s vision, as well as in the long term potential of our company’ said Pablo Pantaleoni, CEO of Medtep. ‘This capital gives us additional resources to expand quickly and strategically, especially in the USA and LatAm. We will be able to develop our roadmap rapidly and deliver our vision among patients and users around the world’.
The company will use these new funds to ensure its internationalization strategy, focused specifically in the USA, LatAm and Europe. More importantly, the round signifies a shift in focus on Barcelona’s emerging e-health sector. Approaching it’s 4th year in business, Medtep successfully moved their headquarters to the US and has already closed 20 large international contracts with key stakeholders in the sector. In the last 3 months, Medtep reached over a 100,000 consumers using their two-sided platform to take control of their treatment and wellness by keeping track of different follow-up plans defined by healthcare professionals and personally adapted to users’ condition. Their recent success will draw increased attention for Barcelona-based ehealth ventures and hopefully encourage more startup activity from our bio-medical ecosystem.
