After two extremely successful editions, the Barcelona Developers Conference is back for more and bigger than ever. With more than 1000 attendees coming out for the occasion in each of the last two years, BcnDevCon has decided to set the bar a bit higher for the 2013 event. The 4-day event will focus on Cloud, Mobile, Robitcs and Open Source technologies and will be able to spread its wings as it takes over Design Hub Barcelona smack in the middle of Barcelona’s innovation district 22@.
The Barcelona Developers Conference was originally founded by Xavier Colomer and Antonio Quiles in 2011 to offer entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts an outlet to showcase their talents, pick up new skills and just devote a few days to doing what they love. Now, it’s evolved into a beacon event with tech junkies coming in from all over the world to take part in the action. This year’s event promises not to disappoint as BcnDevCon has teamed with Asupiva for the first ever edition of RetroBarcelona, an old-school gaming event dedicated entirely to your favorite retro videogames in all of their original glory.
In addition to epic Street Fighter II battles (dibs on E. Honda) and Mario Kart contests, BcnDevCon 13 will feature hands on workshops, expert speakers, two hackathons, a robotics contest and, of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a massive startup party blowout on Friday night on the terrace of the Hotel Silken Diagonal.
