A new channel to accelerate Spanish startups overseas and enter the US market has emerged from my hometown of Boston. In collaboration with Harvard University and Efron Consulting, the Boston accelerator Dat Venture is designed to help Spanish entrepreneurs develop their business models and spur international innovation.
The mission is to connect international talent with the local resources of the flush startup ecosystem in Boston. Dat Venture will help the Spanish teams validate their ideas and build relationships with investors and clients in the US market while practicing proven methodologies influenced by the entrepreneurial endeavors at Harvard and MIT.
The 3-month program consists of three phases and includes actual classwork completed at Harvard University. The first phase of the project will be about creating and validating your idea and defining the initial business model. Phase 2 will be geared 100% towards customer validation and traction, while the third and final stage is all about pitching your project to potential investors, partners and future customers in the North American market.
Make no mistake, the Boston startup ecosystem is one of the most attractive in the world producing billion dollar companies like TripAdvisor, HubSpot, Wayfair and soon to be CarGurus in the last decade alone and pumping out thousands of skilled professionals each year from a dozen world-class universities.
Anyone interested in applying to Dat Venture, should get a move on – open enrollment to their Spring 2015 class has already begun!
Any Barcelona-based entrepreneurs seeking further information about this program and other Boston initiatives, should contact us at Impact Hub Barcelona. Our international Hub network and partnership with Dat Venture, Krash (more on that coming soon!) and other Boston-based programs can provide the inside track you need to get accepted and launch your startup in the US.
