Tomorrow LaSalle University will be hosting their 4th edition of Tech Demo Day featuring 100 of Barcelona’s fastest-growing tech startups, 55+ investors, and more than 500 attendees catching a preview of the next wave of tech innovation to come out of Barcelona. This year’s event promises to surpass last year’s turnout as LaSalle has partnered with the popular monthly meetup group BetaBeers that is hosting their May mixer directly following the tech event at LaSalle.
The main event will take on the feel of an exhibition showroom, as the 100 technology companies will each have their own areas to share their innovative products and services. In addition to the Showroom, there are 3 other distinct areas for the participating companies: Press Pass, Investors Hub, and the Knowledge Space. The format was selected to allow for maximum interaction with investors, the press, future clients, and executives from large corporations that have interest in cutting edge technology. Many engineering and business students (LaSalle’s and otherwise) also turn up to take advantage of this once a year opportunity to get a broad overview of the Barcelona tech scene in just one afternoon.
Throughout the afternoon there will also be several lectures promoting new investment vehicles and knowledge sharing. ENISA will present on their new credit lines of 2013, Caixa Capital Risc will be providing a breakdown of their four investment funds, and the Betabeers’s speakers will show you the most common ways to fail and how to avoid making the same mistakes they did when there first starting out.
Once you get through all the breakthroughs happening in Barcelona and your mind is sufficiently blown, stick around for some casual “beerworking” with your friends at Betabeers. LaSalle’s partners also directly involved in this event are Barcelona Activa, Enginova, Caixa Capital Risc, and of course the preferred beer of all Barcelona startup events, Moritz will be providing the beverages.
The festivities kick off at 16:00 tomorrow (Wednesday) May 22nd in the Conference Hall at La Salle (Carrer Llucanes No. 41-43). Did I mention the whole thing is free? Sign up here and we’ll see you there!
