Last month, Reloadly closed a little over $750.000 in a seed funding round. Their main investors are Bbooster, TheVentureCity, Wayra (Telefónica) and Nero Ventures, all specialized global accelerators of tech ecosystems.
If you haven’t heard about them yet, we give you a 3-minute read about the company and why they are disrupting the top-up industry.
TasS, as we like to call them
Reloadly is the first mobile Top-up as a system (TasS). A cloud-based API made specifically to solve the developer’s needs addressing their main pain points.
This is a turning point in the industry because the company is introducing a brand new -and digital- way to send mobile top-up worldwide, powering the future of the mobile payments market.
Looking back to where this mobile Top-up API idea started
Michel Francis, Reloadly’s CEO, knows from his own experience that the technical process and business model for the top-up industry are very old, and I do mean old-school ways. It is so outdated that still to this date a very large percentage of people from emerging countries can’t stay connected with their family and friends simply because they don’t have access to digital goods.
So Reloadly has come to help, and took an overcomplicated traditional world of mobile top-up, and simplified it a simple line of code giving this old business into a fresh new look in cloud API platform ready to integrate within minutes.
That is why Wayra Spain and TheVentureCity have already started working together and in May 2019, they made their first co-investment partnership in Reloadly.
Now, Reloadly is part of TheVentureCity’s sixth-month accelerator program as well in Wayra’s Scale up program. Telefónica, Spain’s number 1 mobile operator, is a strategic partnership for Reloadly as a core component of its success relies on connectivity partnerships with mobile operators around the world.
So what’s next?
Reloadly has acquired over almost 1.000 business accounts since its launch a year ago. These new accounts are already generating around $1.3M ARR and increasing every week with new customers. Looking good, right?
So, it’s only logical to assume that the company’s next steps are building a strong solid team in Catalunya’s capital to keep growing and improving the product that can actually change and make people’s lives a little better.
