Like SXSW and Burning Man before it, Sónar has added a new act to its annual throw-down in Barcelona. In it’s 20th year, Sónar becomes the next mega-festival to fuse innovation and technology to the beat of world-class musicians and DJs.
Beginning today and running straight through the weekend, Sónar+D brings creativity, technology, mobility, innovation, and business to the center stage of the Sonar Festival.

Barcelona’s Palau de Congressos will be focal point, but activities and projects will be spread around both Sónar and Off Sónar events. You can expect workshops, hackathons, interactive product demos, art installations, and startup launches with their own spin on mixing creativity, knowledge, and music with the latest technology available. Sónar has teamed up with companies and organizations around the globe, such as Boston’s Berklee College of Music and the New Radiophonic Workshop to put together a weekend of innovation and a focus on creating new business models in the music industry.
With more than 60 activities in all, Sónar+D promises to disrupt the way we consume music. In the immortal words of Alan Kay, “the best way to predict the future is to invent it.” Enjoy the show!
