Startupbootcamp Amsterdam, part of the European accelerator program, invites you to join their Pitch Day on June 18th in Barcelona. Startupbootcamp just launched the first E- & Mcommerce accelerator program worldwide, and wants to attract the ten most promising start-ups in the world in the E- & Mcommerce industry.
“We see the world of retail changing”, says Jonas de Groot, Manager of the E- & Mcommerce Program. “One by one all the big retailers are getting on board with the new commerce trends and it is only a matter of time until we all use our mobile phones for each single transaction” adds Jonas.
The high expectations of the modern consumer, in combination with the ground-breaking new technologies, formulate a scene full of struggles but also opportunities for the retail industry players. With the explosion of Omni Channel Retailing, those who want to win the game need to keep up. It is essential to deliver a seamless shopping experience across all channels by integrating the offline with the online.
“There is a great number of leading E- & Mcommerce businesses founded in Amsterdam”, says Jonas; “therefore the city has a remarkable community of E- & Mcommerce experts that we would like to leverage to help the next generation of E- & Mcommerce grow”. “We feel that the timing is right, to create, activate and innovate the E- & Mcommerce Startup Ecosystem through a top-notch accelerator program” Jonas remarks.
Startupbootcamp Global Co-Founder Patrick de Zeeuw will be working alongside Jonas de Groot during the program to accelerate the 10 selected startups. “I strongly believe in verticals, because they are very targeted which is interesting for the startups since they can learn from each other”, says de Zeeuw. He notes,”During the vertical NFC & Contactless program in 2013 in Startupbootcamp Amsterdam, we saw that the startups in the program were not only accelerated by us, our mentors and partners; they accelerated each other”.
Major stakeholders and partners such as Rabobank, Sundio Group, International Card Services, Vodafone, Certa Legal, and PWC have committed to participate and provide resources and expertise.
The Startupbootcamp team, mentors and partners can’t wait to hear your innovative ideas in areas such as Ad & Marketing Tech, Mobile 1st, payment solutions, Omni Channel, marketing, E- & Mcommerce platforms, logistics, data & CRM, commerce solutions, social shopping, authentication, contactless interactions and security.
As always, the finalists will get €15,000 in funding and free office space during the three-month program. Most importantly, these teams will gain access to an incredible network of mentors and experts to support them and enlighten them throughout their struggles, not only during the program but also after its completion.
Very often, the selected teams have the opportunity to collaborate with one of the partners of the program to launch their pilot, or close important deals. Dev Rossa of ICS stated “As a leading credit card specialist International Card Services continuously searches for fit for use possibilities in E- and M commerce to offer to our customers. Collaborating with Startupbootcamp promises a substantial number of ‘win-win situations’ in this field.”
The program reaches its end on Demo Day where the teams pitch their value proposition in front of 400 venture capitalists, angel and seed investors. Keep in mind that over 70% of the registered start-ups have gone onto receive funding within three months of pitching.
