Wayra Accelerator Calls For New Startups In Barcelona

There’s yet another chance to grow you startup in hyper speed together with Wayra, Telefónica’s (Telefonica Open Future_) accelerator here in Barcelona.

The program has a special emphasis on IT-based projects based on the Internet of Things, Cloud technology, network infrastructure and Big Data

The deadline to apply is 8th of May.

Wayra’s director Julian Vinué explains how his accelerator is different from the growing amount of accelerator programs in Barcelona.

“There are many good accelerators in both Barcelona and Madrid, but nothing like us. We are different because every customer of Telefónica, could be a potential customer of your Start-up. We have big companies like BMW, Nissan and El Corte Inglés at our offices, checking out the companies in the program,” Vinué tells Barcinno.

Promise fresh cash and great guidence 

The companies that get selected for the program, will receive seed capital, office space in an innovative co-working, different acceleration services, plus mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs and the Wayra team.

To be considered for the program you need  (as mentioned before) to have a product/service based on the Internet of Things, Cloud technology, network infrastructure and Big Data. You also need to have a scalable business model with a global aim, with a great team with experience from the sector your pursuing, as well as being prepared to commit all your available time to the acceleration program.

Startups that have gone through the program already, include companies like Mareel, MyTwinPlace, Social And Beyond, Tappx, Cl3ver.

The world known accelerator launched in 2011 and has worked since with over 500 companies from more than 20 different digital industries under the umbrella of the organization Telefónica Open Future.
