The round was closed through the crowdfunding platform Crowdcube, and went better than the founders expected. The startups goal was to raise €300.000.
Mammoth Hunters offers a personal trainer through their app, which is especially designed for people that have little or no time to go to the gym.
This last round is the second of two funding rounds for the startup, that closed a slightly smaller round of €189.400 in July of 2015.
Growing in the US
The app, in addition to give you training exercises, also offer personalized nutrition programs.
For those of you working on the summer sixpack, Mammoth Hunters now offers over 100 exercises, 10 types of sessions and thousands of combinations of recipes.
The Barcelona-based company was founded back in 2014, is operating in 20 different countries, but their main markets are Spain, Mexico and the US.
The growth in the US has been substantial, and counts for over 50 percent of their business.
With this recent investment the company plans to consolidate its market leadership in Spain, and continue to focus on new markets, especially in the Spanish speaking world.
The app currently has over 180.000 users.
Almost 400 investors
In total the startup has been crowdfunded by 397 people over the two last round.
In the most recent round, 231 private investors invested on average €1.298 in Mammoth Hunters. 53 of these investors also took part in the first crowdfunding in 2015.
Mammoth Hunters was founded by Oriol Roda, with a PhD in molecular biology and an expert in
mathematical modeling, Nestor Sanchez, an expert in nutrition and sport, and Xavi Vila, a telecommunications engineer and master in security computing.
