The legal industry is one of the markets that is yet to be disrupted by technology. Even though many companies have made the effort to make lawyers’ work more digital and easier through technology, it’s still very traditional in its operations.
For startups, legal service is expensive and many can’t afford a lawyer the first years.
Bigle Legal is a Barcelona legaltech startup that wants to make legal-forms easy, understandable and cheap for everyone:
“We know there is a huge market for our product. The legal sector will look different in 5 years, that’s for sure,” says co-founder and CEO of Bigle Legal Alejandro Esteve de Miguel Anglada.
A problem to be solved, and money to be made
CEO Esteve de Miguel is a lawyer of profession, and the idea to start Bigle Legal came from his own experience:
“I used so much time on repetitive work, spending hours on tasks that could be done in a fraction of the time if it was digital, and easy for the clients.”
He called his brother Sergio Esteve de Miguel Anglada and asked him to join in. After some consideration he was
convinced:
“I analysed the market, and found that there’s a problem to be solved, a solution to provide and money to be made,” he explains.
Bootstrapping
Bigle Legal is currently providing legal documents to both the B2B and B2C market, and have their main focus on startups and entrepreneurs.
The co-founders say they have a good base of customers and are steadily growing.
“Right now we have the 16 most important forms for startups, and we will expand our base of documents going forward,” says CEO Esteve de Miguel.
The two biggest competitors in Spain are Legaliboo and Formaldocs.
The startup is currently bootstrapping their operation.
“If a startup wants to save time and resources, they should let us know,” explains the CEO.
