Back by popular demand, IESE is sending 25 of their future-MBAs off to Silicon Valley in the second annual edition of IESE Meets The Valley. Initiated last year by Jeroen Kemperman, the purpose of the trip is to expose students to the Silicon Valley ecosystem and deepen their understanding of entrepreneurship.
From March 25th to April 1st, students will drop in on startups, large corporations, venture capital firms, and incubators to gain a broader perspective on the process of taking an idea to market and scaling a company. This year’s trip includes stops at WhatsApp, Cisco, Telsa Motors, 500 Startups, Salesforce, Eventbrite, Asset Management Company, and about 2 dozen more.
This year’s trip also includes the IESE Entrepreneurial Forum to be held in San Francisco on Thursday, March 28th. Andrew Chung, partner of Khosla Ventures, will lead a presentation on “Inventing the Future” followed by a panel of entrepreneurs and investors addressing the dynamic, and often frustrating, relationship between ideas and capital. The session will be moderated by IESE Professor of Strategic Management Mike Rosenberg and will attempt to define the future role of entrepreneurs and venture capital in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
IESE Meets The Valley is entirely organized by the MBA students who take part and relies heavily on the role of sponsors and welcoming Silicon Valley organizations to make the trip a reality. To learn more about the trip, become a sponsor, or attend the IESE Entrepreneurial Forum, click here.
