AngelHack was founded in 2011 on the premise that the top startups of tomorrow will be led by the best developers of today. It began in Silicon Valley, but quickly spread into a global movement inspiring developers, hackers and entrepreneurs around the world to come together to meet new people, learn new skills and build new ideas.
Next weekend, AngelHack arrives in Barcelona for a 24-hour mobile coding competition beginning on Saturday, November 23rd at 13:00 straight through until the winners are announced Sunday afternoon, November 24th. The event is calling on all developers – young, old, junior senior, even if you’ve never built an Android or iOS app before, there are teachers onsite to guide you along. In order to win the hackathon, you must DEMO your mobile app at the end of the program. It can be Android, HTML5, or iOS, but it must be mobile-first and it has to work for at least 30 seconds.
A team of local investors and entrepreneurs will judge the final products based on a combination of originality, technological difficulty, viability and app usefulness.
“The mission is to create new ideas, ideas that are useful, ideas that solve big problems, ideas that could potentially make money, and ideas that get people excited.”
By taking part in AngelHack Barcelona you are joining a greater global initiative involving more than 6,000 developers spread across 30 cities. To learn more about next week’s AngelHack Barcelona event and take on the challenge, sign up here.
