Having just pivoted its business model, this Barcelona startup is now focusing on creating a direct connection between a client and a lawyer by offering real time communications. It works a little something like this: search lawyer by specialty, location, availability. You can then review the lawyer profile, areas of specialization, reviews etc. Then with a click and a blink of an eye you can chat with them using a choice of Videoconference, Chat or Private message.
The client can select more than one lawyer and have a “Lawyer Off”. Each lawyer can explain how he/she would approach the situation at hand an how much they would charge, allowing the client to decide which option works best for them. Using such personalized methods as video conference gives the client the ability to get to know the lawyer and decide whether they possess the qualities they are looking for (experience, attitude, eye colour) thus increasing the possibility of a successful conversion.
Following first base, the idea is that the client and lawyer will take things to the next level. Lawyeah! ensures that the lawyers pass through a strict approval process, picking active lawyers with experience in myriad sectors who are prone to using technologies (social media, blogs etc) as communication tools as to guarantee that someone will be online to talk to you!
At this moment Lawyeah! is in Beta and it’s free for both the clients and the lawyers. In the near future, they will apply a monthly subscription service for lawyers.
The ex-lawyer team, based in Barcelona is formed by founder & CEO Alexi Fernández and co-founder & Product Director Cristian Sans who together have more than 20 years experience in international business development and web development.

Good idea to apply in Spain, since there are several companies offering similar services in the US. But it seems in Europe is difficult to implement, since the leading british company in this sector closed several years ago and I think the website of lawyeah at least today is not working.
