What is a Service Jam?

A Service Jam is an event where teams of bright and creative people come together to solve a problem. In summary, it’s like inventing a new product or a startup in as little time as possible and competing against other teams to see who has the best idea.

What is our challenge?

Every year 262,000 tons of food is wasted in Catalunya. We want YOU to come up with a solution to this problem using the Internet and/or mobile technology. It could be an App, a website, a community, a IoT solution or anything else you can think of – the only condition is that it has to reduce the amount of perfectly yummy food that goes in the garbage for no reason!

I want to participate, what will be required of me?

The only thing you have to bring to the table is your intelligence, your knowledge, your creativity, and be open to having a great experience and meeting new people. The event will last three days, May 5, 6, and 7, with the teams getting together to work for 5 hours each day, from 7 pm to midnight. Every day we will have a delicious dinner prepared with wasted food courtesy of EatWith and Le18 to help us really connect with the subject of our challenge. The Fest-UP Service Jam is FREE, the only thing you’ll have to spend is your time and effort to come up with the coolest idea you can!

To participate in the Fest-UP Service Jam the only thing you have to do is fill out this form with some information about yourself, what you do, and why you want to take part in this awesome event. Be aware that the official language of the event will be English. Please keep in mind that spaces are limited and we won’t be able to accept everyone who applies, our objective is to build teams with a variety of roles and different skills so tell us why we absolutely must have you 🙂
