Thursday, La Caixa’s executive growth program EmprendorXXI, announced that Percentil would be one of the finalists in their program, which has a goal of identifying the start-ups with the greatest potential for growth in Spain.
The program is run by ESADE and IESE and has 22 companies contending. It is also in collaboration with the Industry, Energy and Tourism Ministry.
Percentil just recently closed a financing round of 3.2 million euros whose investment will go towards the growth of its new line of women’s clothing as well as consolidating its expansion in Europe.
The company is already operating in four countries: Spain, Germany, France and Austria.
One of the founders of Percentil and CEO, Luis Ongil, explains how much this mean to the company:
“To participate in this program is a great opportunity and a recognition of the work being done in the company and it will undoubtedly help us to consolidate our position as a leader in the market of the buyer sale of nearly new clothes “, says Ongil.
The program has two phases. In the first phase 32 companies get a scholarship which contains adhoc courses for company-growth designed by ESADE and IESE. In the second phase, only 12 companies remains in the final to compete for 50.000 euros in prize-money.
The company has been growing for quite some time now, and it is worth mentioning that the Barcelona based venture capital firm Active Venture Partners invested 1.000.000 euros in Percentil last summer.
